Ralph Joseph ‘Joe’ Bolt

MARQUETTE, MI. - Ralph Joseph "Joe" Bolt, age 74, passed away Friday evening, November 30, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. Joe was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on March 20, 1938. He is the son of Ralph and Alice (Heyda) Bolt of Grand Rapids. In 1979, Joe and Mary Roberts were united in marriage. The couple established their home and raised their children in Marquette. Aside from being a family man, Joe had a deep love for the outdoors, and especially had a passion for fishing in the beautiful Upper Peninsula. Joe is survived by his children, Beverly (Matthew) Soave of Fowlerville, MI and Walter (Marnie) Bolt of Chelsea, MI; four step-children, Artie (Michael) Berry, David (Linda) Winslow, Lee Ann Tarry (Terry Steinhoff) and Carol (Mark) Maloney; his sisters, Rosemary Myers of Billings, MT and Susan Schwan of Hamden, CT; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary; his parents; his sister, Kathy Reindel; and two grandchildren, Daniel Maloney and Aaron Winslow. His family would also like to express their gratitude to Joe's close friends and fishing buddies, Charlie Wilbur, Ted Smith, Jack Soderman, Dave Raikko and Steve Newbie. Visitation for Joe will be held at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home Wednesday, December 5, beginning at 5:00 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm with Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Activity Fund, 425 Fisher St., Marquette, MI 49855.
