GWINN, MI. - Alfred A. Parlato, 94, of Gwinn, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 14, 2012 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.
He was born March 23, 1918, in Princeton, Michigan, a son of the late Angelo and Lucille (Briganti) Parlato, was raised in the area and was a 1936 graduate of Negaunee High School.
On June 27, 1941 he married the former Mary I. Turino in Negaunee and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2012.
Alfred was employed for many years as a miner & truck driver for CCI and retired in 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the casino in his spare time.
He is survived by his three sons, Terry (Judy) Parlato of Gwinn, Gene (Diana) Parlato of Gwinn and Rick (Virginia) Parlato of Michicot, WI; grandchildren, Tony & Jena, Jodi and Bradley, Matthew and Lisa; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Joanna, Hudson, Nathaniel, Emily, Traver, Tony and Bailey; and sister, Irma Johnson of Modesto, CA. Alfred was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Baldini and Olga Powers and a brother, Geno Parlato.
Alfred's family will greet family and friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home.
