MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI - Amy L. Cook, age 37, of Marquette Township, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 29, 2012 at home due to injuries sustained in a house fire. Amy was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on August 26, 1975.
Amy was a bright and caring person who incurred many obstacles, but through her strength and independence, earned a Bachelors Degree at NMU. She achieved her greatest accomplishment of bringing her beloved daughter, Elizabeth, into this world; she is the light of Amy's life and will shine in her eyes forever.
Amy always made sure to enjoy every moment of her life, which included canoeing, kayaking, pool league, outdoors and the annual NASCAR trips.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth; parents, Paul "Newt" and Connie Cook; sisters, Ann Cook and Kelley Atkinson; nephew, Dalton Cook; her Marquette dad, Rich Poseo; in addition to may special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Barb Cook, and Herb and Marie Freeborn.
Visitation for Amy will be held at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm. At 6:30 pm there will be a Native American drum ceremony conducted by the Four Thunders.
