Hematite fan buses are heading to Detroit Friday for state championship

ISHPEMING - A pair of Ishpeming High School fan buses have been reserved for the Hematites' MHSAA Division 7 state title game at 10 a.m. on Saturday against Detroit Loyola.

IHS principal Vicki Lempinen said one bus will leave Ishpeming at noon on Friday. Riders will be spending the night at the Crowne Plaza in Auburn Hills.

The cost is $70 for the bus ride and includes a ticket. Lodging will cost extra and information on how to secure a room will be provided when the bus reservation is made.

The other bus will leave at 11 p.m. on Friday. The cost is $83, including a ticket. Both buses will leave for a return to Ishpeming immediately following the game.

Reservations for the buses can be made beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday at the high school principal's office. The deadline to secure a seat is noon on Wednesday.
