TriMedia Squirt AA Sentinels win three over the weekend

MARQUETTE - The TriMedia Squirt AA Sentinels hosted the Sault Ste. Marie Michigan Lakers and the Sault Ontario Greyhounds this past weekend at Lakeview Arena in NIHL play.

Saturday the team dropped the Lakers twice, 4-1 and 2-1.

Preston Maki turned aside 19 shots in the first contest in goal. Cooper Anderson led the Sentinals in scoring with two goals. Joseph Luke added a goal and an assist. Brayden Stannard scored the final goal.

Andrew Fedrizzi assisted on two of his teammate's goals and Lucas Guertin assisted on another.

In the second game, Carsen Hayes blocked 12 shots in net.

Jacob Peterson scored the first goal assisted by Stannard. Anderson notched the game winner in the second period.

Sunday resulted in a split with the Greyhounds. The Sentinels won the first of two games 5-2 and droped the second 3-1.

Maki saw action in both games, stopping 20 shots in the opener and 15 in Game 1.

Anderson again scored two goals with one assist. Luke notched another goal with an assist. Stannard and Jacob Peterson added the other two markers.

Ryan McCoy assisted on two of the goals. Fedrizzi and Hogan Nemetz had one assist each.

In the afternoon event, Stannard scored the lone goal. McCoy assisted with a nice shot from the point.

The Sentinels improved their league record to 611 and overall the team moved to 1233.
