MARQUETTE - The Marquette Electricians have gotten close, but haven't been quite able to get over the hump and into the win column this season yet.
The Electricians Local 1070 Midget AAA team tied for the fifth time on Sunday morning, 6-6 against Lake Forest Academy of Lake Forest, Ill., at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
Marquette, now 0-18-5, got a three-goal hat trick from Ted Pietila as it scored twice in all three periods. Pietila also had an assist as teammates Ethan St. Germain, Andrew Plomer and Jordan Frazier added single goals.
St. Germain and Mitchell Kazmierczak each had two assists, with Nicholas Franze, Torrin Grange, Austin Riipi, Hayden Rajala and Mike House added one apiece.
The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period while the Electricians took a 4-3 advantage into the final stanza.
Marquette goalie Adam Ranck stopped 30 shots as his teammates were outshot 36-23.
Next up for the Electricians is the Soo Greyhounds Tournament in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, the weekend of Nov. 16-18.
