MARQUETTE - The Lake Superior Community Partnership recently hired three new employees.
Included are Betsy Babcock as director of marketing and communications, Claire Kooperman as assistant to events and marketing and Tina Nelson as assistant to economic development and operations.
Babcock has a bachelor's degree in entertainment and sports promotion and a minor in marketing from Northern Michigan University. She has been employed by Florida Citrus Sports in Orlando since July 2007.
She will be responsible for developing and managing the partnership's public-facing persona including its brand definition, creative direction, marketing programs, public relations activities and member attraction/retention efforts.
Kooperman has a bachelor's degree in entertainment and sports promotion from NMU. She has been employed by the Mission Point Resort since May 2012 as the conference services administrator.
She has also held internships with the United States Olympic Education Center and the Superior Watershed Partnerships and Land Trust.
In her position as assistant to events and marketing, Kooperman will be responsible for assisting with membership, marketing, events, board operations and public relations activities.
Nelson attended Glen Oaks Community College and is a graduate of Westwood High School. She has been employed by the Marquette Branch prison as secretary to assistant deputy warden and regional assistant accounting executive. She has also worked as a branch office administrator at Edward Jones and a transcriptionist for Pathways.
As assistant to economic development and operations, Nelson will support the economic development team and is responsible for overall office maintenance and administrative functions.
