Wildcats women's hoops swat Yellowjackets

MARQUETTE - Sophomore guard Alyssa Colla led three Northern Michigan University players in double figures Saturday as the Wildcats posted a 56-43 exhibition victory over host UW-Superior in women's basketball.

Colla tossed in 14 points for the Wildcats of head coach Troy Mattson. Sophomore guard Lauren Gruber and sophomore forward Abbey DeBruin added 10 points apiece, with Gruber chipping in a team-high 10 rebounds.

Connie Urmanski led the Yellowjackets with 12 points.

NMU, which led 24-17 at the half, shot 38 percent from the field and 68 percent from the free throw line. The Wildcats outrebounded UW-Superior 53-34.
