Wildcats' Johnson, Rietveld named to All-GLIAC women's soccer team

MARQUETTE -Senior forward Amelia Johnson of the Northern Michigan University women's soccer team has been selected All-GLIAC First Team.

Wildcat sophomore midfielder Kim Rietveld earned an honorable mention berth.

Johnson, a native St. Michael, Minn., started all 17 games for the Wildcats in 2012. She led the team with 50 shots and was second with seven points on three goals and an assist.

Johnson finished her career with 21 goals and seven assists in 76 games.

Rietveld, of New Lenox, Ill., also started all 17 games and scored two goals with one assist.

She has five goals and one assist in 36 career contests.

The Wildcats of head coach Matt Granstrand finished the season 4-13 overall and 3-10 in the GLIAC.
