MARQUETTE - The Marquette Soccer Academy girls program concluded its season successfully as its Under-11 team won the Milwaukee Coca Cola Youth Classic and the U17 squad finished runner-up.
The U11 team defeated Water Cities Tsunami 5-1, Wauconda Warriors 2-0 and Croatian Whites 3-2. Emily Papoure led the team in the tournament with five goals, while Reegan Ketzenberger and Grace Garrow had two apiece and Jasmine Racine added one.
"The team performed brilliantly all weekend," coach Jack Curtin said. "We are delighted to ... win such a prestigious tournament. It is important that we continue to develop our players and push on to the next level for the spring season."

The U17 team tied Port Washington 0-0, then defeated NS Arsenal 2-0, and lost to Fox Lake Fire 1-0. Kayce Mullet and Jennifer Carslon scored the team's goals.
"We had a very young squad and performed superbly," Curtin said.
