Hoenke attends institute

HOUGHTON - Gwen Hoenke of Marquette attended the recent Women's Leadership Institute at Michigan Tech University.

The Institute is a new program designed to help female high school students prepare for success in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics studies and careers.

The Institute consisted of team building and social activities, mentoring and interactive programming meant to help the women develop their leadership skills.

Hundreds of women across the nation were invited to apply, and 21 were invited to the Institute. The program was conducted by Amy Climer, an educator and facilitator of leadership development, creativity, and innovation.

Hoenke is the daughter of Gayle and Fritz Hoenke.
