MARQUETTE - The annual Marquette Turkey Trot five- and 10-kilometer runs and walks will take place at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, at Marquette Senior High School.

Entry fee is $10 per person that benefits the MSHS orchestra, or $30 per person if a T-shirt is desired, with shirt sales to benefit the school's Business Professionals of America organization. This year's North Face/Mountain Hardware performance T-shirt includes a logo designed by a Marquette student.

The first-place male and female at each distrance receives a trophy. Leashed dogs are welcome, and a trophy will also be presented to the fastest dogs on the 5K and 10K courses.

Registration takes place from 8 to 8:40 a.m. on race day at the MSHS canopy entrance and the school's Room 101 on West Fair Avenue, while preregistered entrants can also choose to pick up race numbers and T-shirts from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the canopy entrance.

The race will be held rain, snow or shine, and items for the TV6 Canathon canned food drive can be dropped off.

For more information or to preregister, visit the website or call Kim Carr at 250-1398 or email her at
