To the Journal editor:
Bullying is one of Americans biggest problem and that has the harshest effects. Bullying has many different faces that it can wear. Bullying can start at a really young age and can fallow you the rest of your life.
Once someone has been bullied it has the potential to ruin someone's life and relationships with others. People underestimate the reality of this problem and others ignore it as a whole issue.
There are many different types of bullying and it has its own effects on a person. Physical bullying is the most known about and most understood. This bullying occurs mostly with young kids most of them are boys but girls can be a part of this as well.
Another type of bullying is called emotional bullying and this type happens mostly with girls. Girls, unlike boys who get physical, aim to hurt each other by making of a certain girl or group of people like kids with glasses for example. People can also do this by ignoring someone. This includes not wanting to talk to them, sit by them or even be in the same room as them.
Another type of bullying is sort of new to us now. This new form of bullying is called cyber bullying. This has gotten to be a huge problem in the last 10 years or so. Kids and adults can go online now and completely make a person's life unbearable. This has gotten really easy to do because everyone is accessible to a computer or a way to go on the Internet.
Social networks have gotten really popular and people can make pages to hate on someone and talk (about) them and try to ruin a certain person's life.
Bullying has a lot of effects on a person. One is it can make someone not feel good around people anymore, ruin friendships and it can lead people to kill themselves. Death due to bullying has increased a lot in the past years. People killing or hurting themselves has affected all the age groups from the age of 8 to the age of 80. But the saddest thing of all is the age group that has the most suicides is from 10 to 14. This can be stopped if people wouldn't make it seem like less of an issue then it really is.
