ISHPEMING, MI. - Daniel L. Campbell, age 63 of 702 E. Empire St. Ishpeming, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Marquette General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following a 1 year courageous battle with cancer.

Daniel was born on June 27, 1949 in Negaunee to the late Daniel "Larry" & Florence (Mitchell) Campbell. Dan was a graduate of the Negaunee High School. He worked for the Mining Journal, Riverside Auto and Cleveland Cliffs and most recently worked at Wal-Mart for ten years before retiring in 2011 due to his illness.

Dan enjoyed yearly trips to Las Vegas over the last 25 years with his wife Debbie. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and had a love for animals. He loved spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife Debbie (Eliason) Campbell, whom he married on May 24, 1985, a daughter: Melissa Doucette of Marquette, sons: Dan Campbell Jr. of Gwinn and Ryan (Kady) Thorne of Ishpeming, 2 granddaughters: Jessica Beaumont of Minnesota, Kelsey Doucette of Cedar Grove, WI, 2 grandsons: Cory Doucette of Cedar Grove, WI and Benjamin Thorne of Ishpeming, 4 sisters: Florence Pohlman of Ishpeming, Beatrice (Don) Johnson of Marquette, Patricia Sims of California, Sandra (Philip) Hirt of Brooklyn, MI, father in law and mother in law Bob & Marlene Eliason of Ishpeming, sister in law Lynn (Scot) Luke of Iron Mountain and brother in law Craig Eliason of Minneapolis along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Dan will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday at the Bethel Lutheran Church from 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm.
