Sentinels swept in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The City Insurance Sentinels Pee Wee AA youth hockey team of Marquette was swept in a three-game series by the Green Bay Junior Gamblers over the weekend.

Marquette (2-3) return to Northern International Hockey League action this weekend in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday and back home at Lakeview Arena against Calumet on Sunday.

The Junior Gamblers scored 3-1 and 7-2 victories on Saturday and 7-5 on Sunday.

In Game 1, Luke Beerman scored Marquette's lone goal, an unassisted tally, as teammate Dylan Sibilsky turned away 18 shots.

In Game 2, the Sentinels got in penalty trouble as Nate Bordson scored both Marquette goals, Ethan Jones assisted on the second one and teammate Tyler Bergwall made 22 saves in net.

In Sunday's final game, defensive letdowns cost the Sentinels as Bordson scored twice and assisted on a goal by Kobie Guidebeck.

Other Marquette goals were scored by Tanner Phillips and Sean O'Connor, while Beerman picked up two assists and Ted Hoenke and Daunte Fortner had one each. Sibilsky made 24 saves.
