Gary White of Gwinn, left, former commander of the Albert and James Lyon Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, receives an appreciation plaque from Patrick Kennedy of Menominee, current commander of Albert and James Lyon Camp. White was recognized for his service as commander from 2004 to this year. The purpose of the organization is to perpetuate the memory of those who saved the Union in the Civil War.
