MARQUETTE - The Marquette Squirt AA Sentinels youth hockey team forged two ties in a four-game home series against the Green Bay, Wis., Gamblers last weekend.
Preston Maki turned aside 43 shots but Marquette lost the opener 6-4 as teammate Brayden Stannard scored twice and Ethan Sellers and Cooper Anderson each added a goal.
Jacob Peterson had two assists and Andrew Fedrizzi was among those with an assist.
The next two games ended in 3-3 and 4-4 ties. In the 3-3 contest, Carson Hayes made 21 saves for the Sentinels as Peterson had a goal and two assists, Stannard a goal and an assist and Lucas Guertin notching a goal.
In the 4-4 game, Maki stopped 31 shots with Stannard hitting the twine twice and Guertin and Sellers once each. In addition, Peterson had two assists and Ansel Frost one.
The series ended with Green Bay scoring a 2-1 victory as Maki stopped 28 shots for Marquette and Stannard scored the lone goal.
