To the Journal editor:
We also had gas cans stolen from our shed in the backyard. One can was from our father-in-law when we moved here in 1968.
Please just drop our gas cans in the backyard, no questions asked. Oh, also, please return the air-gun, that was our dear son's. Please restore my faith in mankind. Thank you.
P.S. if you needed gas, you should have come to the door. We would have gladly given you some.
