AmeriCorps members begin service

The Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Services Agency's AmeriCorps Program recently held its orientation and training for the AmeriCorps members serving in "Get Ready, Get Reading." The first day included a visit from state Rep. Steve Lindberg, D-Marquette. Shown are, from left, Dan Faust, Laura Mead, Joe Servia, Randa Osman, Tara Pokela, Lindberg, Diane Jarvi, Kevin Harrington, Allison Uren, Samantha Zerbel, Amber Racine, program director Chad Rowley and Katie Mann. The 11 AmeriCorps members are committing to a year of service in a Marquette County or Alger County school.
