Lions Club backs cabin restoration

September 17, 2012
The Mining Journal

Dan and Fae Collins, center, present a check for $1,000 to Jim Thomas of the Negaunee Lions club and Donna Gravedoni Bjork, representing the Negaunee Historical Society. The two organizations and the city of Negaunee are cooperating in the restoration of the Collins Log Cabin in Negaunee's Jackson Mine Park. The authentic pioneer cabin was likely built in the mid to late 1800s and was once owned by Dan's great-grandparents Samuel and Hannah Collins who settled in Negaunee in 1867.
