ISHPEMING - Taking all four singles matches, the Negaunee High School girls tennis team beat host Ishpeming Wednesday, 6-2.
All four Miners singles winners took their matches in straight sets, with Abbi Kill leading the way at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Gabby Croley.
Allison Carlson, Kayla Hakala and Dana DeBretto also posted singles wins for the Miners (8-1-1).
Ishpeming (2-9) won twice in doubles play, with Jordann Grigg and Taylor Croley at No. 1, and Krista Almli and Jen Uuro at No. 4, prevailing.
Amanda Washnock and Jessa Johnson at No. 2, as well as Kylee Taavola and Jordyn LaFreniere at No. 3, claimed doubles triumphs for the Miners.
"Our No. 3 doubles has done a great job for us all year," NHS head coach Kyle Saari said. "They've improved almost every match."
