To the Journal editor:
Many of the residents here at the Snowberry Heights Senior Apartments are saddened and disappointed over recently learning of the decision to sacrifice much of our backyard, beautiful spruce trees, a third of our shuffleboard and sitting area to accommodate 55 more vehicles in our parking lot.
Had we been informed earlier, we may have been able to research other options or remedies to at least prolong the decision to destroy the beauty of this area, but evidently the work is scheduled to begin in the near future.
The two beautiful and majestic spruce trees were planted when the Snowberry was built in the 1970s and they, and the surrounding landscape, will be missed terribly by us all. I plan to take before, during and after photos in honor of their memory and the many years of service they afforded us with shared enjoyment, awe and appreciation.
