MARQUETTE - Jonas Engstrom scored the winning goal to complete a 5-4 comeback by the Marquette Senior High School No. 2 JV boys soccer team on Tuesday afternoon against the visiting Northland Pines JV squad.
The Redmen fell behind by two goals to the team from Eagle River, Wis., but an opening goal by Marquette's Mitch Jones and teammate Mikee Miladow's hat trick helped pull Marquette even at 4-4 before Engstrom netting the decisive score with five minutes left.
Freshman Ben Cole was also cited for outstanding defensive play.
"The boys had a balanced mix of possession, passing and direct attack," MSHS coach Noel Moreno said. "I had confidence that they could pull it off today, they just did it the hard way with an exciting comeback."
