SANDS - Three local racers and another from Iron County posted the fastest times at Sands Speedway during the weekly races held Saturday.
From Sands, Todd Maki was fastest in purestock, Ross Olsen Jr. in four-cylinder modified and Darryl Wirkula in street stock; while Putch Bentley of Iron River claimed honors in late model.
Featured at the three remaining dates on the schedule will be Kids Day and a four-cylinder powder puff this Saturday, championship races and street stock powder puff on Aug. 25, and fan appreciation day and all-class invitiational on Sept. 1.

Fastest times - Purestock, Maki, 18.428; 4-cylinder modified, Olsen, 17.177; street stock, Wirkula, 16.447; late model, Bentley, 15.244.
