Schultz leads IRACORE to Iron Range Women’s Softball League victory over Cliffs in Class A

Iron Range Women's Softball League

Amy Schultz went 3-for-4 with a double to lead IRACORE to a 9-4 win over Cliffs Natural Resources in Class A action.

Julie Boule' banged out two hits - including a double - for Cliffs.

Amber Emanuelson went 4-for-4 (triple) and Steph Abata 3-for-4 (home run) to power Jasper Ridge Brewery I to a 20-5 triumph over Paradise Bar.

Lori Nelson, April Lawer and Jen Polkki all went 2-for-2 for Paradise.

PC Medic crushed TeePee Bar, 25-16, behind a 5-for-5 (triple) plate performance by Kylie Coombs. Katie Erspamer added a homer.

For TeePee, Trudy Duquette posted three hits, including a triple.

Rachel Gray recorded five hits and teammate Nancy Spencer four as Hickey's outlasted Rookie's Too-Quality Car Care, 17-10, in nine innings. Lori Marshall went 5-for-5 for the losers.

Congress defeated Crossfit 906, 9-2, as Tina Nelson hit s homer and a triple. Liz Steve tripled for Crossfit.

Libby Nelson (two doubles) and Debby Zummak both posted four hits as Buck's Party Store blasted Jubilee Foods, 23-4.

Amanda Harlock and Cathy Bertucci homered for Jubilee. Teammate Abby Fredrickson added two hits.

In Class B, Pasquali's downed Willey's Tire Shop, 14-7, as Jamie Durand hit two home runs and knocked in seven runs. Teammate Shelley Young went 3-for-3.

Jeannie Kangas collected three hits for Willey's.

Sandy Carlson smacked a homer, and Becca Chapelle went 3-for-3 with a triple, as Signs Unlimited stopped Dave's, 14-10. Jamie Roose and Melanee Bess slapped our four hits apiece for Dave's.

Tino's II drubbed Company B Graphics, 18-3, behind a homer by Ali Rogers and a triple by Chelsea Belanger.

U.P. Off Road Performance dropped Jack's TeePee, 14-10, and UP Rehab Services edged Jasper Ridge Brewery II, 11-9.

Katie Rankinen hit two doub;les and Kritsi Uren went 3-for-3 for UP Rehab Services; Diana Sundberg and Briana Bancroft belted round trippers for Jasper.

Sandie Whitford, Jesse Rosten and Audry Hogan homered, while Linda Dompierre, Anna Dompierre and Kimberley Nemetz tripled for Sister's in a 19-9 triumph over VFW.

Sue Luokkala (three) and Amy Young (two) combined for five hits for VFW.

In Class C competition, Rookie's I got a triple from Abby Walimaa and a double play in the bottom of the seventh inning to shade Martin Sports Apparel, 18-17.

Sarah Massie went 4-for-4 with a homer and knocked in four runs for Martin Sports Apparel. Teammate Victoria Powelson added three hits and three RBIs.

Linda Carello and Cassidy Kudis each banged out two triples to help Country Lanes whip UP Fabricating, 24-9, though Jessa Johnson went 3-for-3 and Valerie Prusi smacked a grand slam for the losers.

The Negaunee Eagles nipped Chapper's Pub, 21-20, behind a three-run homer by Chastity Ellet, a 3-for-3 plate effort by Michelle Augustine and three hits by Joy Prisk, including a grand slam.

Alena Treloar hit a double for Chapper's.

Palomaki Family Chiropractic got three hits from May Aho in a 27-7 thumping of Jean Kay's. Jaclyn Davey and Ashley Wanhala homered for Jean Kay's.

Whitney Brugman posted two triples and knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Wooden Nickel trimmed Eastwood, 5-4.

Amy Bazinette belted a home run and Ellen Sundberg turned in two hits for Eastwood.
