MARQUETTE - Four Northern Michigan University hockey opponents will make their final visit to the Berry Events Center as conference foes in 2012-13 before departing for other leagues, including two from the Big Ten.

The Wildcats, who themselves are bolting from the CCHA to the WCHA at season's end, host the Big Ten's Michigan on Nov. 2-3 and Ohio State on Jan. 18-19 in Marquette.

Northern opens CCHA play for the final time Oct. 26-27 against Notre Dame, who's leaving for Hockey East.

Miami, who will join Western Michigan in the NCHC, comes to Marquette Jan. 11-12.

The Wildcats also host future WCHA rivals Alaska on Nov. 23-24; Michigan Tech on Dec. 4; 2011-12 national runner up Ferris State on Feb. 8-9; and Lake Superior State in the regular season finale on March 1-2.

The Wildcats hit the road in conference play at Miami, Ohio State, Western, LSSU, Alaska, Michigan State and Bowling Green State. Nonconference road contests include trips to Nebraska-Omaha, St. Cloud State and MTU.

Northern opens the season with a Sunday exhibition against Brock University at the BEC, followed by a regular season opener for the second-straight season against the Big Ten's Wisconsin Badgers, this time on Oct. 12-13 at the Resch Center in Green Bay with NMU as the hosts.

The Wildcats last hosted the Badgers in the season opener in Green Bay in 2006 following Wisconsin's national championship run.

The Badgers took three of four points with a win and tie, but the two-game NMU home series drew 12,145 fans compared to the 8,520 NMU can pack in two games at the BEC.

The October meeting between the Badgers and Wildcats will be the first of three series over the next five seasons played in Green Bay.

The other two series will take place in Madison, Wis., as part of a four-year scheduling agreement between the two schools on top of the current contract for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.
