MARQUETTE - The FC Marquette Red Bulls 00 U12 team lost and tied games in the Fox Cities Classic Soccer Tournament on May 5.
A third scheduled contest was rained out.
The Red Bulls lost the first game, 4-1, to the Iowa City Alliance Earthquakes. Scoring for the Red Bulls was Kahlab Federau (unassisted). Riley Lindberg made six saves in the first half and Ben Noble two in the second.
Federau was the Red Bulls' player of the game on offense, Eric Salminen on defense and Noble the outstanding player.
In Game 2, the Red Bulls tied the SCU Blue Surge, 0-0. Keeper Kyle Michelson made seven stops in the opening half and Lindberg six in the second half.
Ethan Martysz was the team's offensive star for having two quality scoring chances. The top defensive performer was Colton Yesney and the outstanding Red Bull was Thayer Yates.
