GREEN BAY - The Marquette Senior High School girls JV soccer team won the Green Bay East Invitational on Saturday, posting a trio of shutouts by goaltender Destinee Sandstrom against Wisconsin opposition.
Sandstrom stopped all seven shots on goal by the opposition in the three games as Marquette took anywhere from 18 to 36 shots against the opposition.
The Redettes opened with a 4-0 win over the tourney hosts as Kendra Palomaki scored in the first half and Alexis Thierry, Lizzie Kurian and Sierra Lancour added second-half tallies.
MSHS followed that up with a 2-0 victory over Menasha as Bailie Garrow scored both goals, one in each half.
In the championship game, Marquette scored all its goals in the first half of a 4-0 win over Luxemburg-Casco. Scoring were Lancour, Mikayla Blight, Jordan Berglund and Mackenzie Verbeke as Laura Slavsky was credited with two assists.
