NEGAUNEE - Students at the Negaunee Middle School got a big surprise Wednesday morning.

After heading outside for a fire drill, the kids were greeted by the Green Bay Packers tailgate bus circling the school. Current and former Packers players Matt Flynn, Josh Sitton, Dorsey Levens, Gilbert Brown, Antonio Freeman and Desmond Bishop stopped by the school as part of the team's 2011 Tailgate Tour.

"This is a once in a lifetime chance for them (the students)." NMS Principal Dan Skewis said.

The students then got the chance to sit in an assembly with the Packers players, asking questions about playing, being famous and what they would be doing if they weren't playing football.

The players in turn talked to the middle schoolers about bullying and standing up for themselves.

"Listen to me. Do me a favor. If you see somebody getting bullied, do not go and try to fight that person. Do me a favor and go tell a teacher. Tell somebody. If you're not doing that, you're not helping the other person out," Brown told the students.

The bus rolled into the school parking lot at about 10:30 a.m. amid cheers from the students and staff.

Prior to the arrival of the bus, Skewis said the visit from the players was kept a secret from the students.

"Only a few staff members knew," he said.
