Autism movie screening set

MARQUETTE - In recognition of National Autism Awareness month, a special screening of the award-winning movie "Temple Grandin" will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday in the Peter White Public Library community room.

This 2010 made for TV biopic starring Claire Danes follows Temple Grandin's struggle with the isolating challenges of autism at a time when little was known about the condition The film chronicles Temple's early diagnosis, turbulent school years, and her emergence as a woman with an innate sensitivity and understanding of animal behavior.

"Temple Grandin" won numerous Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Danes' performance. The film is rated PG and runs for 103 minutes.
