MARQUETTE — Tom Casperson stopped in Marquette Monday to announce his candidacy for the 38th district in the state Senate seat being vacated by Mike Prusi.
Prusi, D-Ishpeming, can’t seek re-election because of term limits.
Casperson, R-Escanaba, previously represented the 108th district in the state House from 2003 to 2009.
In 2008 he unsuccessfully challenged Bart Stupak, D-Menominee, to represent the 1st District in the U.S. House.
