Donald R. Howe

MICHIGAMME — Donald R. Howe, 82, of 321 Main St., Michigamme, died Monday, February 18, 2008.


Donald was born April 14, 1925, the son of Flora and Russell Howe in Michigamme. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Champion and was a proud World War II veteran. He spent the past 20 years wintering in Florida. 


He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Juanita J. Howe, who died June 9, 2000; his parents, Flora and Russell; and one sister, Doris (Joe) Verville.


He is survived by his son, Douglas (Judy) Howe of Ishpeming; daughter, Denise (Grant) Warnick of Palestine, Texas; three grandchildren, Shawn Howe, Melissa (Collin) Marshall and Brittney Rhinesmith; a brother, Norman (Doreen) Howe of Negaunee; and a sister, Flora May (Duane) Olson of Texas.


A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Church in Champion at 11 a.m. Following the mass will be a military service. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.


The family will receive friends at the Sacred Heart Church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
