Northern Michigan finalist Dan Evans hired by Ohio Dominican to become Panthers’ new head men’s basketball coach

May 6, 2013 - Matt Wellens

MARQUETTE — Ohio Dominican University of the GLIAC South Division named Hillsdale assistant coach Dan Evans its new head men’s basketball coach on Monday morning.

Evans, who has been an assistant at Hillsdale for the past six seasons, was one of four finalists for the Northern Michigan University job. He interviewed in Marquette a week ago today.

ODU will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. and stream it live online.

The Panthers (5-23 overall, 1-21 in GLIAC) finished dead last out of 16 teams in the GLIAC last season, three games back of 15th-place Northern Michigan (5-21 overall, 4-18 in GLIAC).

The official release from ODU on Evans’ hiring can be read here.
