Northern Michigan football signs 26, including two from U.P.

MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University has officially announced its recruiting class for 2013, signing 26 players from three states, including two from the Upper Peninsula.

Gladstone defensive end Jared Vuksan and Sault Area halfback Kyle Root of Brimley will both join NMU next season.

NMU signed 16 total from the state of Michigan and five each from Florida and Illinois. NMU signed no one from Wisconsin of Minnesota.

NMU second-year head coach Chris Ostrowsky will have a press conference at 1:30 p.m. today at the Superior Dome. Check back this afternoon for more on the class of 2013.
