W. Richard Mutka

W. Richard was born in Detroit, MI on October 27, 1928, the son of the late Waino and Gertrude (Rintala) Mutka. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1947. He worked as a pipefitter for the former Local Union in Marquette and retired in 1990 from Local 250 in Los Angles, California.

Richard was a member of the Ishpeming Elks Lodge #447 and the Negaunee Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed golfing and camping.

W. Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine (Dolkey) Mutka, whom he married on May 27, 1950, three sons: Jerry Mutka of Corona, CA, Mike (Ann) Mutka of Ishpeming and Mitch (Sharon) Mutka of Ishpeming, a daughter Jean (Tom) Harwood of La Habra, CA, 10 grandchildren: Cristy, Jason, Shannon, Richard, Joshua, Juleann, Joey, Michael, Chelsi and Arthur, and 10 great grandchildren: Jacob, Madisyn, Kaitlyn, Logan, Shaylee, Abby, Jaks, Noah, Karah and Colin.

Richard’s family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am- 11:00am on Thursday, January 23rd at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 11:00am with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Mutka, Mike Mutka, Mitch Mutka, Nathan Williams, Michael Mutka and Robert Kakkuri.
