HARDWOOD — Two people are dead following what officials describe as a “large explosion” at a residence in Dickinson County.

Officers from the Michigan State Police, Iron Mountain post responded to the residence at Fordville Road in Hardwood at 9:50 a.m Thursday where they located two deceased victims.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time and the investigation is ongoing into the cause of the explosion/fire.

Troopers at the scene were assisted by STAR Ambulance, Breen Township Fire Department, and the Felch Township Fire Department.
